Most people like to blame Facebook, the algorithm, and pretty much everything except for the most important thing: product selection.

Product selection is for about 90% accountability of your dropshipping success, so as long as your store is functional and doesn’t look like complete trash, the problem is most likely not your store…

Many of us fail because we focus on the wrong things in our business, and I don’t blame you, as there is a lot of noise out there on the internet. Today, I will cut all that noise and share our 3 product research methods that bring us $10,000 products constantly. Stick till the end because I will also share my raw 50-minute product research video of finding winning products.

Rinse and repeat

First of all, you have to understand 2 things:

  1. Setting up a process that finds you winners constantly is much more important than one winner itself, so invest in a team that you can teach.

  2. NOBODY can tell you whether it is a winner or not in advance, don’t take the piss; I am sure not even FB itself knows it.

What does this mean? It is all about testing & repeating; the more you can test, the more ABSOLUTE winner rate you will have.

We usually use only 3 methods to find good products, not more, not less; as always in dropshipping, getting the structure right, is harder than the actual process.

Method 1: copy cat

Ad library: I mean, I think you know the ads library on FB, and you definitely should; we do two things here.

  1. Scroll your feed: Scout potential good products that run ads worldwide (If you don’t live in the US and see English ads, most likely they run worldwide). Click on the FB page and then check all of their ads for the products! Save all of them creatives.

🧠 Pro tip 1: Buy stuff from your niche from other dropshipping stores, you heard me right, buy it to stay in the algo. I know there are apps; you can do it your way.

  1. Fb ads library: Search for keywords that fit in your product’s niche: Dress for summer, Orthopedic shoes, Free shipping, 50% Off, Bamboo lamps, etc. Repeat the process.

| PRODUCT DESIGN:

If you use method 1: Just be the copycat in this case, just copy & translate everything from creatives to product pages.

Method 2: Ali Express

Go to Ali Express with your list of keywords (I recommend creating one, time by time) and filter for the newest! Trail and errors man, create a process to test as many as possible, get some new stuff, and look for quality pictures.

🧠 Pro tip 2: Do an Ali Picture search with a product picture of a new product; the fewer duplicate proucts you find the better!

| PRODUCT DESIGN:

This is a critical recommendation if you’re selling fashion products; nobody will give you that for free. Change the background of all pictures! Use canva! This will look unique and professional and not like the typical dropshipping stuff!

🧠 Pro tip 3: Use the same background for all products in the same category, for example, black leather jackets for women, and create a collection! differentiate yourself!

Method 3: Afterlib

Afterlib filters out all the crap you see within the FB ads library, saves time, and lets you filter based on the performance of someone else his ads (Including the new EU reach filter).

Filter on the following:

  • Technology: Shopify

  • Country: Big 5 (CA, NZ, AUS, UK, US) or niche EU market to leverage the EU reach filter.

  • Language: English or the native language of the EU market.

  • CTA: Shop now.

  • Platform: FB ads.

  • Filter on: Last 7/14/30 days.

| BIG 5 MARKET RESEARCH:

  1. Find dropshipping stores (not products), then open up the FB ads library in a second browser, insert their domain name (www.storename.com), and have a look at how many active ads they run; this will help us indicate whether the store is killing it or not.

🧠 Pro tip 4: Combine your finding with similarweb. Does the store have a lot of monthly visits? At least more than (30k+)? It means they are doing something right.

  1. Now, save your findings in a Google sheet document. Make a list of dropshipping stores that are killing it so you can come back every now and then to see what else they are running, and another list with winning products.

| EU RESEARCH:

The same framework applies here. The only change is that you should pick products based on their EU reach instead of their active ads. Also, ensure you never run products in the same market as the competitor!

That is all you need to know. There is no perfect product research method; it is only trail and error. The more you can test, the more ABSOLUTE winner ratio you will have!
